If you read about the Jupiter/Saturn/Mercury gathering last week, the trio are closest tonight and tomorrow night. Again, look low in the southwest just after sunset with binoculars. Jupiter is the brightest of the three with Mercury being the next brightest, below and left of Jupiter. For the early risers, tomorrow morning a very thin crescent Moon is just right of Venus, the pair rising about 6:30 a.m. in the southeastern sky. The Moon will pass between the Sun and Earth late Tuesday (“New Moon”) and then appear in the evening sky. Look for the waxing crescent Moon to the upper left of Mercury after sunset on Thursday evening.
